About our Company
Early on
Roadrunner was founded by James Smart in 1969 with the help of his wife, Judy. The Roadrunner legacy began out of a small Mobil gas station. They started with one tow truck located in West Baton Rouge after proudly serving in the US Navy.
James and Judy’s ability to build relationships, and their dedication to providing fast, excellent service enabled them to build Roadrunner’s fleet from one wrecker to many more. They established multiple locations on both sides of the Mississippi. After the tragic passing of James on May 1st of 2001 while working to upright a rolled-over tractor-trailer, Judy went to work that same day. She took on the full-time leadership role as owner and President, continuing to serve the towing and recovery needs of Baton Rouge and surrounding areas.

For 3 generations we have continued to grow with the guiding principles of faith in God, family and selfless acts of service to the community we serve and committed to uphold those values that shaped Roadrunner into what it is today to serve Louisiana and the Baton Rouge community for many years to come.
