Step 1: Look Up Your Vehicle
Search our live impound system by full VIN or license plate number — anytime, 24/7. It’s the same information our dispatchers see, right at your fingertips.
FIND MY VEHICLECALL (225) 356-3061How the Impound Process Works
From the moment your vehicle arrives at our facility, here’s what happens — and what you can do at each step.
Vehicle Is Towed & Secured
Your vehicle is transported to our secured impound facility at 5050 Robique Road and logged into our system with its condition documented.
Look It Up
Confirm your vehicle’s location using the Find My Vehicle search above, or call our 24/7 dispatch with the last digits of your VIN.
Gather Your Documents
Bring a valid government-issued photo ID and proof of ownership (see requirements below). Storage fees accrue daily, so acting quickly saves you money.
Release or Retrieve
Visit us during office hours to release your vehicle, view it, or retrieve personal items. After-hours release is available with a gate fee.
Releasing Your Vehicle
To keep every release quick, legal, and secure, here’s exactly what you’ll need to bring for your situation.
🚗 It’s Your Vehicle
- Driver’s license, State-issued ID, or Government-issued picture ID
- Proof of ownership (title or registration)
🤝 Picking Up for Someone Else
- Written letter of consent from the owner — signed and dated
- Copy of the owner’s picture ID
- Your own valid photo ID
🏛️ No-Insurance Hold
- To lift a no-insurance hold, a release signed by an authorized Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles (OMV) representative is required
- You may ask OMV to forward the release by email directly to contact@roadrunnertowing.com
🏢 Releasing to Your Insurance Company
- Minimum requirement: a verbal release from you (the customer) along with your ID and phone number
- Or: a written letter — signed and dated — releasing the vehicle to your insurance company
- Your insurance company handles pickup from there
Personal Items & Vehicle Viewing
You don’t have to release your vehicle to get what you need out of it.
Retrieving Personal Items
Come by during office hours with your photo ID and proof of ownership — the same documents required for release — and we’ll escort you to your vehicle to collect your personal belongings.
Stereo equipment or anything bolted/attached to the vehicle: you must first obtain a letter from the insurance company granting permission for removal.
Viewing Your Vehicle
Need to see your vehicle or have an insurance adjuster inspect it? Viewings are available during office hours and are escorted by our staff for your safety and the security of every vehicle on our lot.
Bring your photo ID and proof of ownership, and call ahead so we can have your vehicle accessible when you arrive.
